STUDY WORK HISTORY

In   1984, he graduated from Guangxi University;

In   1993, he received his Ph.D. from the Graduate School (Chinese Academy of   Agricultural Sciences, CAAS);

In   1993, he joined the Department of Agronomy, Guangxi University, and served as   associate professor and professor successively.

TEACHING AREA

Genetics,   Seed Science and Technology

RESEARCH INTEREST:

Rice,   Molecular Breeding, Genetics of Quality and Resistance Traits

RESEARCH HIGHLIGHT

His   lab's research mainly focuses on breeding of hybrid rice and the molecular   basis underlying the quality and resistance traits in rice. They recently found   that OsGSTU34, a Bz2-like anthocyanin-related glutathione transferase   transporter and a putative transporter for anthocyanin in rice, is essential   for rice (Oryza sativa L.) organs coloration, and found the effects of   protein on the gelatinization and retrogradation in reconstituted rice flour.   They are exploiting both the traditional breeding tools and molecular tools   to facilitate the breeding rice.
